ABOUT US

Picture
This research organization is founded and guided by Juhee Lee-Hartford of River Architects to increase the public knowledge and the appreciation of Korean architecture through research, discussions, media, and publications.  Her studies in Korean architecture began with a Fulbright Fellowship to South Korea in 2000~2001.  This research was further supported by the MacDowell Colony and Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts.

Juhee Lee-Hartford is the founding partner of River Architects, a New York-based architectural firm dedicated to providing progressive, sustainable, and engaging built environment.

She is currently working on a collection of essays called "Dwelling Under the Influence," a root-searching journey of a young architect returning to her homeland to understand what heritage remains after the Korean War and the rapid modernization of South Korea.

This organization is grateful for the contributions of its sponsors, various scholars, architects, authors, photographers, students, and visitors of diverse backgrounds.

We welcome you to join us in this endeavor.
